Wonderful to see you! Welcome back! Be sure and tell me how you've been :D
I have what some might consider to be extreme fitness goals for the next 30 days and I was thinking it could be pretty grueling for me and I might lose motivation. So I thought, “The more the merrier!” I thought I’d see if there were other people in the Twittersphere/Bloggosphere/Internets that want to play too. It doesn’t matter how big or small your fitness goal is. It doesn’t matter how you want to get there. You don’t have to do what I’m doing.
Maybe you want to lose 5 or 10 pounds in the next 30 days or maybe your goal is to add 15 pounds of muscle. Maybe you just want to get stronger. The overriding goal of the challenge is to end better than we started.
My only sticking point is that your goal must be attainable. This doesn’t mean you lose face if you don’t attain it, it just means don’t set yourself up with something impossible from the get go. For instance, no one can lose 100 pounds in 30 days and still live. Pick something that’s logically attainable even if you wonder if attaining it is possible for YOU. Maybe you want to lose 30 pounds in a month. You’ve heard it’s possible, but you’ve failed before. Don’t let previous failures stop you. You’ll have moral support and if you fall down and want advice, you can get some suggestions! If you don’t attain your goal, there’s no shame. Stick around and try it again next month!
This Is A Free Event
This is a free event and I will give limited, general advice for free. However, I won’t design your exercise program for you or design your diet. The main motivation of this group is to provide moral support to each other, motivation to keep on going (it’s easier to keep going when other people are doing it too), share successes and frustrations, encourage each other, etc.
Zero Embarrassment Factor
If you want to participate, you’ll want to measure yourself, BUT keep your measurements to yourself to preserve your privacy. The goal is not to embarrass anyone, but to report the DIFFERENCE between your measurements from week to week so you can track progress. So, there’s no need to tell us your measurements or weight, just something like this:
chest/bust= lost 1-1/2″
upper arm= gained 1/2″
waist= lost 2″
hips= no change
thighs= lost 3/4″
calves= no change
weight= lost 3-1/2 lbs.
That way you can share your progress proudly while keeping the private numbers private.
Another Way To Track Progress
Also, you can click on FITNESS DIARIES and begin a fitness diary for yourself if you would like a place to record your daily or weekly progress.
Privacy
Guests are not allowed to read anything at my forums, so only registered members will be able to read any of your posts. There are no ads or weird blinking things and you are free to come and go as you please. You can send PM’s (private messages), email to other members, and post on the forums.
Come Join Me!
If you’ve wanted to get into shape or you have a special event coming up you’d like to be in better shape for, I hope you’ll join me. I’ll be here for sure (unless nobody joins me haha). You’ll have lots of moral support and you might even make some new friends! The Challenge officially starts October 1, but you can come in and get yourself set up and ready to go. You can even start a little early if you’re up for it.
To begin, go register at http://www.wholyone.com/forums. You’ll need to register in order to read or post anything.
Continuing Challenge
If there is enough participation, I will continue the challenge from month to month. I personally have a fitness goal every month, even if it’s just maintenance (I’m not quite there yet) and I imagine you folks do too. If so, we can keep the motivation going! I will continue to provide support for as long as there are people needing support.
