I need to build up some strength, size, and stamina in the next 30 days. Finally the weather is cooperating here. It’ was only 86 today in Gilroy, CA, so I’ve been able to work out. It’s supposed to be in the 80’s this week and down into the 70’s next week. I’m looking forward to that!
My Workout Today:
3 sets - Triceps kickbacks
3 sets - straight barbell bicep curls (these are really slaying my hurt wrist!)
3 sets - triceps (don’t know the name lol)
3 sets - alternating dumbbell curls
A couple of nights ago my chin bar fell from the doorway while I was suspended mid air. Thank god I didn’t fold my legs up at my knees like I normally do. Landing on my knees would have been catastrophic and I don’t even want to try to imagine the pain. Instead I landed on my feet, but landed badly on my right foot. The bar hit me in the side of the head and hurt my ear and then the next day I had pain in my wrists too. I feel like I have a split heel and possibly a hairline fracture on the side of my foot. Additionally, something is “jiggling” on the top of my foot when I take a step. I don’t know if the jiggle is just swollen tissue jiggling or whether it’s something more. I have to wrap my foot with an ace bandage at night just to get to sleep. I unwrap it during the day to let it get some air and feel natural, but it hurts sitting still or any other way I try to lay or sit. It just hurts all the time.
I was going to do weighted punches but I’m out of time. I have to cook dinner and work on my tax homework. My next arms day is Wednesday, so if Wednesday is cooler than today was, I can start earlier and get more done. All in all- great arms workout that is probably going to make me very sore tomorrow! Right on!

I knew it! Last night’s workout was AWESOME! My arms are pretty darned sore today and I won’t hit peak soreness till this evening even. Both my triceps and my biceps are sore.
I’ve got to brace my wrists with something when doing barbell curls with the straight bar. Granted my wrist was injured already, so that’s accountable for a lot of my pain in my wrist today, but still… those curls placed a huge load on my wrists.
So today I’m hoping to get to abs, legs (the brazilian butt workout), and practicing some kicks.
It was so funny… last night I was texting my workout to my brother and he was telling me not to add military press - that I should just consider myself done with my workout. He elaborated and said, “Don’t push your injury to permanent damage. And you’re not a Navy Seal anymore - that’s all part of your past.” Bah haha! While good advice, that was the funniest text message I’ve ever received on my phone. And just in case you’re wondering… No, I’ve never been a Navy Seal lol.
I can hardly wait to work arms again on Wednesday!
